Pediatric feeding disorder (PFD) refers to inadequate oral intake that does not align with age-appropriate standards and is linked to medical, nutritional, feeding skill, and/or psychosocial challenges. Conservative estimates suggest that PFD impacts over 1 in 37 children under the age of five in the United States each year. For these infants and children, every bite of food may be painful, frightening, or unachievable, which can hinder their nutrition, development, growth, and overall health.
